Review: Into The Primitive: Advanced Trapping Techniques

I mentioned this book in my earlier post “Security at A Remote Homestead” and thought it a good idea to elaborate more here. The book has lot’s of good information, information not found in other books, the section on Path Guards & Alarms is most impressive.

Backpacking Food Bars 2.0

Even though it was posted over a year ago, I’m still receiving a surprising amount of interest in my Backpacking Food Bars.  I’ve refined the recipe a bit and taken it on another trip, so I thought I’d share an update.  This new version is significantly more nutritious and tastier than the previous iteration.

I have seen articles on the prepper web sites from time to time about the need to convince neighbors to begin prepping. On “Doomsday Preppers,” a woman in Utah made it her “mission” to knock on doors and to leave prepper starter kits with people in her town.
